aina, adib, dan ming li,..pravin pula tengah betulkan tali kasut..
Salam alaikum readers..
O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allâh as just witnesses and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety, and fear Allâh. Verily, Allâh is Well-Acquainted with what you do. (8)
(Al-Maidah 5:8)
Above is the first few words that comes out from someone whom I never really knew before yet now become significant in my way of thinking. I went to his talks not solely because of political inquiries that playing around my head. It is more to hear a public talk by a well-known leader of my beloved country. And imagine how I somehow found it as an Islamic talk. Alhamdulillah, there are so many new things that I got last night.
From the above verses of Holy Qur'an we can see how Allah swt teach us to be just in any situation to everyone no matter what skin they are coloured with. Indeed Allah ask us to love each other in the name of Allah.
Sadly, what happen in our country now is the other way round where people hate each other silently. Frankly speaking, racism is slowly cultivated by people in our country. The Malays only mingle round with Malays and talks bad stuff about the Chinese and Indians ( and sometimes the people from Borneo). Similar scenario also happen to the Chinese and Indians.
Why? Who is to be blame?
Is it the system?
Leaders?
or the people themselves?
Ask yourself.
I never really care about this issue till I attend the talk last night. Alhamdulillah, praise be to Allah, I've given a chance to realise this fact. Then I started to revise back on my own acts and behaviour towards my non-Malay friend. Did I treat them justly? Astaghfirullah, may Allah forgive me for any unjust doing that I've ever made to them.
A little bit of history..
Look at how the Prophet identified the Muslims and non-Muslims who live in Madinah. They are identified as one nation in a peaceful situation that helps one another. Therefore, we can derive from constitution is that fairness and peace is the basis for a harmonious society.
We see today what took place in the past. Today, we live in multi-religious and multi-racial society. If we feel that we can only interact with non-Muslims only with the existence of the constitution like the one in Madinah, we have not understood the sirah accurately.
We should be looking at the principles and hikmah that lies behind the constitution that is fairness and peace. With fairness and peace, we form this society that is multi-racial and multi-religious.
That is then what should had happened in our beloved country. I don't think it is too idealist to point that out because I do believe in the words of Allah i.e Islam can be the connector between us.
But how?
Well, the speaker mentioned how he get such a great support from the non-Malay people i.e the Chinese and Indians by practising Islamic ethics in his work, his appearance and conclusively in his life. He emulates the Prophet in politicking on which he leads and drive his voters and supporters from various background using Islamic basis. Thus, he is spreading the da'wah or the words of Islam as a leader.
Well, this is only one of many more vital points of his speech. I post this entry to let us all revise and muhasabah (value ourselves) on our just. Count back how racist we actually are.
If any of you want to point out or share anything, please do so.
Wallahualam. (Allah knows the most)
Jazakallahu khair. (may Allah rewards you with goodness)
Wassalam.

anon
i like how u say 'kita'is more apt then 'dia orng/mereka'.. nicely said anon..
andi..
i really like tis infact tis is 3rd time i read tis... cuz it really means something.. rite nw our society is killing ourselves.. no more perpaduan or such thing d these days.. so wen i read tis im very happy because u, representing the dominant religion in malaysia, is able to see beyond colour, prejudice and religion.. i admire how nizar told thru his islamic values he had gained respect from the non muslim.. tis is very true.. i really hope there are more people like u around in malaysia.. cuz rite now malaysia is heading to a corrupt, divise society with increased emigration of good citizens to nz, usa and uk, an economy market which is heavily limited due to heavy tax and corruption and a labour market which is on the verge to collapse.. all this stemmed because of the division of people and stereotypes..
I like this post very much.
syg seribu kali syg krn tidak berpeluang utk mendengar apa yg disampaikan tp mgkn smpai juga mesejnya kpd mereka yg tidak berpeluang.
Sama-sama doakan krn Islam diturunkan bkn utk sstu kaum,ia diturunkan utk semua dan perpaduan antara semua amat dititikberatkan dalam Islam.
Akhi, kabare? =)
Learn to accept differences and remind ourselves that what matters most in the eyes of Allah is taqwa.
When you return home to Malaysia, you'll find it tough to break this race-centric mentality of the citizen. To the extent that you might sometimes jump into the same bandwagon. So make sure you're well prepared for it adikku, kan nak jadi wakil rakyat kat Sabah nanti? =)
Take care akhi!
agen perubah
