Ilmu+Iman ->Amal or Ilmu-->Exam ?

salam alaikum readers..

Sempena musim exam yang bakal menjelang ataupun mungkin ada di kalangan readers sudah pun memulakan perang, penulis ingin mengucapkan selamat berimtihan.

Sedikit 'sharing' atas rasa 'caring' kepada kalian semua, berikut adalah entri untuk kali ini..

Rasulullah S.A.W. telah bersabda :

العلم علمان :

فعلم في القلب فذالك هو العلم النافع ؛ وعلم على السان فذالك حجة الله على ابن آدم

Ilmu itu ada dua jenis : Ilmu yang ada dalam hati (disertakan amal), maka itulah yang bermanfaat; dan ilmu (yang hanya) berada di atas lidah (tanpa diamal), maka itulah ilmu (yang menjadi) hujjah Allah (untuk mendakwa kesalahan) terhadap anak Adam.’ -

[`Riwayat Ibnu Syaibah ddan Al Khatib]

Kata Imam Ghazali RahimahulLah Ta’ala :

`Ilmu yang meemberi manfaat itu ialah ilmu yang menambahkan perasaan takutmu kepada Allah Ta’ala; (ilmu) yang menambahkan celik mata hatimu terhadap keaiban-keaiban dirimu; (ilmu) yang menambahkan ibdahmu kepada Tuhanmu ‘Azza wa Jalla dengan sebab makrifatmu kepadaNya; (ilmu) yang mengurangkan gemar kasihmu kepada dunia; (ilmu) yang menambahkan gemar kasihmu kepada akhirat; (ilmu) yang membukakan pandangan mata hatimu terhadap kebinasaan-kebinasa an segala amalmu sehingga kamu dapat memeliharakan dirimu daripadanya; (ilmu) yang menampakkan kepada kamu segala perdayaan syaithan dan tipuannya’. -

The Messenger of Allah (SAW)said: “When you pass by the meadows of Paradise indulge freely in them!" The Sahabah asked: "O Messenger of Allah! What are the meadows of Paradise?" He replied: "The circles of Ilm.” [Tabarani, Al-Mu’jam Al-Kabir]

Ilm that is mentioned here is 'beneficial knowledge'. This is the knowledge that brings us closer to our Creator and Sustainer. Many are the rewards for the seekers and teachers of ilm. This is because it is through beneficial knowledge, knowledge of the reality of this world and knowledge of the Hereafter, that we draw nearer to Allah SWT, which in turn brings us closer to Jannat.

It is a great blessing from Allah SWT when a person is able to see and value the things of this world as they really are. That is when he or she will be able to utilize their learning to benefit their Akhirah. As Rasulullah SAW used to, we should also ask Allah SWT to show us the reality of things as they really are.

Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), (1) He has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood) (2) Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, (3) Who has taught (the writing) by the pen. (4) He has taught man that which he knew not. (5)

(Al-Alaq 96:1-5 )
